So I was sitting there the other night chilling on my phone, as you do and looking up fan theories and discussion threads on Game of Thrones, when I came across an extremely strange theory which seemed to have legs. I thought about it a little more and came to the conclusion that it could actually be a thing.

So here it goes. Missandei is a spy! I know right? But let’s look at some reasons she could be before we discount it.

Missandei was born on the island of Naath, off the coast of the continent of Sothoryos. She was enslaved at a young age and taken to Slaver’s Bay in Essos, where she was put to work as an interpreter for Kraznys mo Nakloz, who Dany gave one of her dragons to before turning on him and burning him alive.

Interestingly when Davos questioned her in episode 3, it was all a little odd. Davos is a cultured man, he was a smuggler and has knowledge of a lot of the free cities. Davos asks her where she’s from and she says Naath. When he continues to complement the place, she politely smiles and walks off ahead. Could Davos sense something a bit off with her?

Ser Davos questions Missandei’s accent and asks where she’s from.

Not enough evidence? Okay well what about the fact that Euron knew exactly where Yara and Theon would be sailing and the exact ship they were on too? Or what about the fact that as soon as the Unsullied have won Casterly Rock, Euron is there destroying their ships? Euron must have had inside information, as it would take weeks to sale around Westeros to Casterly Rock. Has Missandei leaked information here?

Finally, let’s look at the final reason Missandei could be a spy. In Season 2 of Game of Thrones, Jorah meets a mysterious woman called Quaithe, who somehow knows about him being an informant for King Robert and warns Jorah not to betray Dany again. And in the books, Quaithe tells Dany “Three treasons will you know. Once for blood and once for gold and once for love”. We know Dany has been betrayed twice, by Mirri Maz Duur and Jorah, but she’s still yet to meet her third betrayal… for love. Could Missandei, angry in losing Greyworm betray Dany in the name of love? It’s just a theory.

Quaithe warns Jorah not to betray Dany again, in Season 2.

There are a few contradictions here. Like, apart from being angry about the death of Greyworm, why would she betray Dany? Dany freed her from her master, she was once a slave who Dany seeks to liberate. Also why would she tip off Euron about the Unsullied at Casterly Rock when her beloved Greyworm is there? As I say, there are a few contractions, but one thing is for sure; Dany is likely to be betrayed again. Varys? Tyrion? John? My money is on Missandei as an outside bet.

We’re watching you, ridiculously attractive slave girl!
