After Monday’s action packed episode episode (or earlier if you cheekily watched the leaked copy), there was a lot to take it. Whether you were hoping that Bron managed to get off of that Scorpion bolt launcher in time to avoid being burnt to a crisp, or if you wanted to see Daenerys help Drogo so he could continue to wreck havoc on the Lannister army, there was no doubt that you were glued to your screen. However, there was a very important scene that occurred earlier that may have been over looked.

At one point Queen Cersei is meeting with Tycho Nestoris from the Iron Bank of Braavos, and they are discussing finances (as usual). She mentioned that she needed help expanding her army, at which point she says that Qyburn has been in talks with the Golden Company.
Who are this ‘Golden Company’? You may ask…

Well, to put it simply, The Golden Company are an enormous band of Sellswords (mercenaries) who operate out of Essos. They are infamous all across the land as being the best of the best. They never break a contract, if you can afford them that is, and since you are paying top coin, you expect the best.
Allegedly they are 10,000 strong and have required some of the best fighters on the continent to fight with them.
Jorah Mormont even fought with them for a time before taking up the job of watching over Daenerys Targaryen for the Master of Whisperers himself way back before the first season. After Robert’s Rebellion, when Jorah was selling people as slaves (yes, he was a bad man just like the majority of people in this show), we all know that he was exiled to Essos and never allowed to return back to Westeros, it is clear that he joined this band of Sellswords to make ends meat, or something to do since he had disgraced his House and his father (the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch).

If Cersei manages to hire them, then her army would grow unimaginably and give her a fighting force who would strike fear into the heart of her enemies. Since they are from Essos, it is understandable that they would have fought against the Dothraki before and know how to deal with them (something that the Lannister army could not, although it is worth noting that they did have an enormous Dragon flying about burning them as well, so you have to let them off for not dealing with the Dothraki so well).
